On the way to the Capital

We figured out it would take 2 days for apostille so Melissa decided to drive the documents down today and I'll pick them up & FedEx them to someone traveling tomorrow.  It is a 7-8hr round trip to Richmond... a lot of driving.

  1. Goodness gracious! I very rarely thank my lucky stars that I live in this part of the country (I'd prefer to be in Texas)... but my state size has me thankful when it comes to dossier prep. I had an 8am USCIS appointment today. Youch! Could have been really ugly if I lived in a bigger state like y'all!
So happy that your stuff is on its way!

  2. Heh, true. Though having come from California, this is nothing... it could easily be over 7hrs one way to get to Sacramento. They have multiple locations to apostille stuff in the state though.

Here on the east coast everything is so "small"... shoot I can make it to CT from VA in less time than Sacramento to Los Angeles. We don't do that sort of thing enough though... sometime we need to head up to Nantucket and see where my ancestors came from.

  3. Its funny people here make it an all day event to go to the mall (45 min away) because its "GASP! Off the island!!!" 45 min. seriously!?!
It wasnt until today when my husband and I both left the island and AG stayed on the island (for school) that I felt the whole island mentality... "What if we never get back?! What if the bridge collapses?!" Insane.
In TX we'd drive 3 hours to a mall, easy.
